I have to admit...when I heard that John Legend was giving a commencement speech at U. Penn I paused. Here are a few words from his speech.

The people who created these crises or allowed them to happen either didn't look hard enough for the truth, or didn't listen to those voices that could tell them where the truth lived.

We lost thousands of lives and spent billions (possibly trillions) of dollars fighting in and rebuilding Iraq, all based on the false premise that there were weapons of mass destruction or that Saddam Hussein was in cahoots with Al qaeda and caused 9/11.

I throw no stones at her for having a family that wrestles with issues that most American families deal with. What makes me pissed is that she and the rest of her clan act like their ish don't stink. I can't say that my own family has dealt with a drug arrest, numerous ethics scandals, an unplanned pregnancy, a child born with a disability, and intense media scrutiny in the last 12 months, but I can say if we had...we'd have learned how to shut up and fade to black.

Palin continues her rich legacy of pimpin' by taking her (garden utensil) daughter on a nationwide campaign to speak about sex, with a teaching model fresh from the 1930's.

It's a shame that these two teenagers Bristol and Levi have been used in this manner. It's one thing to knock boots and get knocked up, but it's quite another to be forced to advocate for a particular system of beliefs that you CLEARLY don't practice and believe in.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I still believe Trig is Bristol's baby.

You can't help but love this young man. Only 24 years old and he becomes the youngest NBA Most Valuable Player in the league's history. He has dominated all season. His Cavs have the best record in the league, and the are owning the Atlanta Hawks like Thomas Jefferson did...

He has a maturity beyond his years. After he won this year's MVP trophy he reportedly told his mother that she is truly the MVP. Taking into consideration his own mind boggling accomplishments, Lebron said that raising him by herself, while working multiple jobs to make ends meet, makes his own stats and feats seem minuscule.

In another classy move Lebron opted to accept his MVP trophy at his old stomping ground, St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School. All the "old" fellas were invited to attend.

If you are like me you pass on the NBA regular season. The games are boring, and college basketball and March Madness finds no comparable rival. However, we are watching history unfold with Lebron. We are watching the crowning of a new era of NBA superstar.

In the same year that we elect the first black President of these United States things just got even better. Oprah announces that she is giving away free chicken. You have to admit...you've seen the grilled chicken commercials for the better part of a month now. You know you said, "grilled chicken...at Kentucky FRIED Chicken...that mess will never sell."

Now that the Supreme Gift giver from the "Chi" has blessed this country in our time of need, we all have clamored our way to the computer to see how we can partake in this "manna from heaven". There have reportedly been skirmishes and scuffles around the country at computer printers at home and work...people fighting to grab their chicken Willy Wonka Ticket.

Truth is, we wouldn't even consider eating this George Formanized bird if it wasn't free. I can't lie, I've printed out at least 4 coupons and have eaten KFC grilled chicken for lunch and dinner today. Why? Because its FREE...that's why. If KFC was open for breakfast I would be standing at the door licking my lips with my printout in hand.

Thank heavens Oprah unleashed the free birds during the spring. Can you imagine how many all out scraps there would be if this promotion would have happened anytime near MLK day?
